Crossing
This session will need a number of football cones.
Structure
-Set up the area as above.
Rules
-The FB plays around the mannequin combining with the red player.
-The FB then delivers the ball in to the second 6 yard box.
-The red players tries to get on to the end of the cross.
-The GK then restarts the process on the other side.
Blocking Crosses
You will need a supply of footballs for this session.
Structure
-Set up the area as above
Rules
-A ball gets played out wide to the red player.
-The red player tries to deliver a cross. The white defender aims to block the cross.
-Both players must remain their side own side of the white line.
-Progress by allowing the defender to go and win the ball.
Switching Play
Set up the football goal to catch the crosses. You can use pop-up goals for this.
Structure
-Set up the area as above
Rules
-The CB plays the ball to the FB.
-The FB then releases the ball in to the goal.
-Mix up the deliveries (driven, lofted, swerved etc.)
-Progress to moving the goal or adding goals.
Spicing it up!
Give each player 20 attempts each to make it competitive!
