Manchester City’s star striker Sergio Aguero has criticized the referees of the Premier League by saying they give unfair bias to the English players in the league.

It came after City’s late winner against Fulham on Saturday, after a foul by Zabaleta on Fulham’s John Arne Riise in the box gave Fulham a penalty after four minutes. The penalty was neatly slotted by Mladan Petric, who has had to take something of a back seat the past couple of weeks since the signing of Berbatov.
From then on Fulham gave the current Champions a run for their money and it wasn’t until Aguero leveled from a spilled save by Schwarzer at close range in the 43rd minute that City looked like they were getting the upper hand.
The game was heading for a draw – which would have seriously dented their hopes of winning the Premier League again this year – when Edin Dzeko scored with his first touch of the game.
Dzeko has only made a couple of appearances this year, but he was the difference for Manchester City with his ability to score football goals when the blue side of Manchester needs it most.
Aguero thinks that, although there are just as many foreign players in the Premier League as English ones, referees still have a prejudice towards English players.
Liverpool’s Luis Suarez is a key example of why. He has a reputation as a diver, and this goes before him, every referee knows that he could be simulating as much as a brush in the box. This means that when he is actually fouled in the box – like in Liverpool’s 5-2 victory over Norwich – the referee assumes he is diving.
There is no English player who dives as well as Luis Suarez, instead of wearing a football kit he should wear speedos and a hair cap.
The question is, will Aguero’s voiced concerns be enough to change the referees’ perception?
