Andy Carroll will remain at Liverpool as he rejects West Ham’s loan offer.

van Persie ponders

The England striker has recently been linked with a move back to his original club Newcastle, but that did not come to fruition as the Magpies refuse to pay more than the £35m price tag they sold him for last January.

Liverpool had a greed a loan deal worth £2m to lure Carroll into a West Ham football kit for their first season back in the Premier League after just one season in the Championship.

But the 23 year old striker told them that he has no interest in joining the London club, and it is thought that he only wants to move back to Newcastle.

Unfortunately he is currently in limbo, apparently not appearing in Liverpool manager Brendan Rogers’ plans for the club and not being able to return to Newcastle – the team where he was arguably at his best.

He has not been able to pull up his football socks in the same fashion whilst a Reds player, although an impressive career as an England international awaits him with the right coaching and team.

He will probably have to make do with wearing his adidas tracksuits for the first half of the season and hope for more action in the January transfer window.

Meanwhile, the Premier League’s highest goalscorer Robin Van Persie is looking like he will be staying in an Arsenal football kit for a little while longer.

The striker – who netted 36 football goals last season – is out of a contract next year at the Emirates and already Manchester United, Manchester City and Juventus are chasing him.

Manchester City boss Mancini has said that he does not think he will be able to coax the Dutch international to the Etihad Stadium, but surely Ferguson and Conte will not give up so easily.
