Possession Ideas for Coaches

Session 1.

Structure

• Set up the area depending on your outcome.

Rules

• 4v4 in the middle.
• The team that makes the highest amount of consecutive passes in the middle wins.
• If the blues make 6 passes and lose possession, the target to then beat for the yellows is 6.
• If the blues regain possession they start back at 1.
• If a team manage to make 5 passes and then choose to visit the bounce players the count also starts from 1.
• Bounce players play off 1 touch.

Session 2.

Structure

• Set up the area depending on your outcome.

Rules

• 4v4 in the middle.
• The team in possession must try and successfully get the ball into the oppositions end zone.

Progressions:

• You can only get the ball in the end zone with a dribble or receiving a pass etc.

Session 3.

Structure

• Set up the area depending on your outcome.

Rules

• 4v4 in the middle.
• The team in possession must deliver the ball in to the keepers hands to score.
• The GK then delivers the ball back to the same team.
• The team in possession must complete 3 passes before giving it back.

Progressions:

• Have one goal keeper assigned to a team.
• Visit one keeper and then the other.
